This place has an amazing bay view, and the location is fabulous — walk to the Treasure Island beaches. Even in this crazy heat wave, the window unit kept the living room and kitchen plenty cold.
The bedroom was not as cool, but still very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again! The setting is lovely, as the complex is directly on the bay. We enjoyed breakfast in the common area overlooking the bay, and the pool which also is bay-front.
The condo is so nicely furnished in a nautical theme, with accessories to match. So clean and neat. William is a great host, and was so responsive to my correspondences and our needs. You access it from the lane behind her home, walking up a short flight of stairs. There is a little cafe table with with chairs at the top of the stairs overlooking beautiful tropical folliage, perfect for a morning cup of coffee. You enter the apartment via a keyless lock and walk into a cozy room with a small sitting area set up around a tv and a table with chairs. A second room has a murphy bed and two desk set-ups. I found it ideal for working.
There is a small well equipped kitchen, a three-piece bathroom and a bedroom with a queen bed. Kay provided lots of towels and toiletries. The bathroom is clean and very charming. If you are a very tall person, you might find the showerhead too low.
We loved the space for all of its charm, light-spilling windows and tree top views. It was very comfortable and exceptionally well located.
We walked to a mere block to get coffee at Black Crow. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. We recommend the Wooden Rooster for breakfast. We hope to be able to stay with Kay again. I couldn't recommend them and their accommodations more highly. Walk up the street away from downtown and you'll see homey houses with garden and plants all over.
Seems like rhe whole city grows their own produce. Bikes everywhere, even the mailman delivers the mail on a bike. People walk their dogs everywhere, even into convenience stores, like Walgreens. Never saw one dog poop anywhere. The city is grea. I'd definely recommend going there and staying at the apartment. Btw- pictures don't do it justice.
The apartment is better in person. I didn't hear a peep from any of the neighbors. Owner isn't very hands on. We just communicated that I was arriving and got necessary code info and that's about it. But she was responsive to questions I had during the stay.
CONS- I have no cons that can't be rectified. Couch is actually a pull out that is very squeaky ok for one person but would be annoying for two. There is no street parking. It's 2 hour parking limit. There is a parking garage few blocks down with reasonable prices. There was no info in the apartment about "things to do in St Petes", so make sure you Hidden by Airbnb stuff to do ahead of time. Highly recommended city and Airbnb location. We loved staying here! We look forward to our next visit!
I would possibly recommend using a regular bed instead of the pullout couch. It was a bit rough on the back so we ended up placing the mattress on the ground.
